Introduction

‘Style and Substance’

Proving that style and substance needn’t be mutually exclusive, Energetics’ flexible approach to design and build ensured that the electrical infrastructure for Urban Splash’s development at Saxton, Leeds was as aesthetically pleasing as it was robust.

The Challenge

On a mission to turn two old tower blocks on the East Bank area of Leeds into a collection of stunning starter flats, property developers Urban Splash were looking for more than the average substation – in addition to the technical specification, they were looking for an enlightened design.

The Solution

We used our customary flexible approach to design a substation that would blend more easily into the architectural surroundings. Out went the more traditional grey stone casing and in its place came stone cladding and a screen to mask the substation.

Such has been the success of the partnership that Urban Splash has since awarded Energetics a second contract for a similar uniquely designed installation at Velvet Mills, Bradford.
